OBD is an early stage biotechnology company with a patented technology that is based on the extensive research in gene expression and novel properties of non-coding RNA, a new dynamic field of biology.
The research has shown that each expression mode of a gene is associated with a specific set of long-range interactions within the chromosome around the gene. This set-up is a part of an early epigenetic microenvironment created within the cell in response to the signals which regulate the expression of the gene. The patterns of the high-order chromosomal specific structures differ for the normal and abnormal modes of expression of the same gene which can be uniquely detected and analyzed by the OBD technology.
The OBD technology has several applications, based on the reliable and comprehensive detection of abnormal gene expression. The immediate applications include early disease diagnosis and monitoring of patient treatment, which forms the core of our objectives.
