History
OBD is a diagnostic company that span out from Oxford University in June 2007 with the aim for converting its technology that is based on non coding regulatory RNA into clinical diagnostic products for cancer and genetic disorders. The parent patent covering these concepts was filed in February 2007.
In December 2007, the company started its reference laboratory as a Quality Control and Quality Assurance facility in Begbroke Science Park, near Oxford in the UK. The facility will provide the subsidiaries with correct and specific reagents for the development of specified diagnostic kits.
Since its inception, it has focused on:
- Developing and standardising the technology for a set of unique diagnostic applications
- Establishing collaborations and feasibility studies with leading academic research groups
- Filling of patents and securing newly generated intelectual property and technical know-how
