Dr Aroul Ramadass, PhD (Cantab); Science Director

Ramadass read molecular biology and biotechnology at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, after obtaining National First in the All India Combined Entrance Exam. He was awarded the Felix and Cambridge Commonwealth Scholarships and read bioinformatics at Cambridge University and at The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute (PhD awarded in 2004).

Since then Ramadass worked with Dr Alexandre Akoulitchev at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, Oxford University and is one of the founders of OBD, now heading up and managing the Oxford BioDynamics laboratory. Ramadass is behind the key pattern recognition software supporting Oxford BioDynamic's research and is a Fellow of Cambridge Commonwealth Society and Cambridge Philosophical Society.

Stephen Caiger, M.Ag.Sc (Reading) - Manufacturing Director

Caiger started his career in the Overseas Development Administration of the UK Government, and later became a founder of a specialist consultancy company providing business development services in the horticultural sector in the tropics and sub-tropics. Over the period 1998 to 2003 he was Project Director of Oxford Natural Products plc, a biotechnology company developing licensed pharmaceuticals from traditional medicines. He has extensive experience in Africa, S & SE Asia and the Pacific.

Karen Koh, BA, Hons (Cantab), MPA (Harvard) - Director Asia

Mrs Karen Koh is concurrently Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Health Services Pte Ltd (Singhealth) and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Singapore General Hospital. Karen was a President's Scholar and graduated with a BA (Hons) degree from Cambridge University. She obtained a Masters in Public Administration / International Tax Program Certificate from Harvard University and was a visiting scholar at the International Tax Program, Harvard Law School. Karen started her career in the Singapore Civil Service in 1982, having held different appointments at the Ministry of Finance, Inland Revenue Department and Monetary Authority of Singapore. This covered tax policy and incentives, financial and corporate regulatory policy and legislation. She has also served as staff to various Ministerial-level committees, including the first Economic Committee, and the Financial Sector Review Group. Her last held position at the Ministry of Finance was as Director (Fiscal Planning). This portfolio included international finance and development aid policy, requiring interactions with the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, ASEAN, APEC and ASEM. Since joining Singhealth in 2001, Karen has played a key role in organisation and management at Singhealth and the Singapore General Hospital. She helped the Group create the Singhealth Foundation and is now appointed as a member of the Singhealth Foundation Board of Trustees. She has also previously been appointed to the Boards of CWT Distribution Ltd and The Republic Polytechnic.
