Job Position:  Manufacturing Process Technician 

Reports to:  Manufacturing Associate

Department:  Manufacturing

Permanent, Full time, 20 days holiday plus statutory holidays

Purpose

To be actively involved in a variety of manufacturing processing related tasks. Including the production of reagents to standard operating procedures and Work Instructions. Autoclaving, filling, and filtering of bottles.  Packaging of commercial kits.  Completion of workflows and documentation of the process to regulatory standards. Laboratory organisation, cleaning, and equipment maintenance.

 

Essential Functions to be Successful in this Position (weighted)

1) Manufacturing procedures 70%

Manufacture of reagents for internal use and for external kits; including filtering, spinning/rotating/ dosing/filling, labelling. Batch labelling.

Filling out workflows, writing and editing WIs. Checking workflows, documentation, and preparing kits for shipment.

Fulfilling kit ordering, shipment procedures, a general assembly-line style set-up of kits to customers.

Involved in equipment maintenance, calibration, and general lab maintenance

 

2) Documentation Procedures 30%

Assisting in the preparation for experiments and other laboratory-based work, and the preparation of all associated documentation required for experimental, regulatory and certification purposes.

Maintaining laboratory safety standards and working practices, and the development and implementation of improved working practices

Updating Work Instructions as required.

 

 

Background

·      Candidates will be A level/ HND educated or equivalent in a biological science related subject.

·      Process production experience in a manufacturing discipline an advantage

·      Attention to detail and good organisation is essential, and candidates must demonstrate the ability to work individually as well as within a team environment.

·      Knowledge of a biological manufacturing environment an advantage.
